If the Trumpification of the Republican Party has proven one thing above all others, it’s this: conservatism – as a political philosophy – is a black hole of CRAVEN racist, misogynist, bigoted fear-based hate. Unable to win elections honestly, conservatives have sought instead to win elections by limiting the electorate to just their voters. And if they do lose? They’ll refuse to accept the election’s results. That’s utterly contemptible. And that’s just one of the myriad c-words one could use to describe conservatives

There’s COWARDLY!

What word better describes the Republican Party’s subservience to Trump than COWARDLY?

Well… to be fair, I can think of one non-c-word: TREASONOUS.

The GOP has been cowardly toward Trump because they’re being treasonous. Though the press has asked about Trump’s hold on the GOP, they reported its true nature back in 2017!

The Washington Post’s Adam Entous heard a recording made of a meeting of GOP leaders from June 25, 2016. Just as these Republicans met, former Speaker Of The House Kevin McCarthy entered.

McCarthy had just attended another meeting where members of our intelligence community were alerting members of Congress to the fact that Vladimir Putin and Russia were actively trying to undermine Ukraine’s fragile, new democracy and its new President Zelenskyy. Unpon entering meeting number two, McCarthy said, “There’s two people I think Putin pays – Rohrbacher and Trump – swear to God!”

Now, just for starters, that’s a weird thing for any American politician to say about the person they’re about to nominate to be their presidential candidate. That a hostile foreign leader owns them. That would mean that Trump – were he to be elected – would pose a grave national security threat.

Yet no one present – GOP leaders, all of them – either contradicted McCarthy or demanded to know why he’d say such a terrible thing. McCarthy would later tell reporters (the few who did question him after this conversation was reported) he was joking. But, was he?

Was McCarthy joking about Dana Rohrbacher – the Republican representative from California who was known as “Putin’s Favorite Congressman”? No – he wasn’t. And he wasn’t kidding about Trump either.

Then Speaker Of The House PAUL RYAN stepped forward and asserted “leadership”. He told the assembled that they were not going to talk about this anymore – that they were going to keep this terrible secret a secret from the rest of America.

Why was that, do ya suppose?

As Ryan put it at the time about how important it was to keep this secret, “That’s how we know we’re family”.

A family of what though? A family of corruption.

There’s CORRUPT

Donald Trump has been a criminal most of his life. The onus is on us for having never prosecuted him until now. But, Trump’s not alone in his corruption. The entire Republican Party has surrendered to corruption.

The reason Republicans have it in for the rule of law is because the rule of law has it in for them – for all their criminal behavior.

The men who founded America understood corruption. Many of them feared it – and feared how one corrupt person could possibly undermine the democratic republic they’d created. But, America’s founders themselves made a corrupt bargain with slavery.

The Confederacy formed to keep slavery alive (“confederates” being another c-word one can call conservatives). When they seceded, they performed a treasonous act.

Treasonous and criminal, too.

There’s CRIMINAL

Sam Alito just let the conservative cat out of the bag. In another recorded conversation (conservatives need to learn to shut up), Alito said he doesn’t believe in compromise or comity. He believes only one side can win ideologically – his side. The CATHOLIC side.

Alito and Clarence Thomas are both active insurrectionists (Thomas’ wife Ginny helped plot the COUP attempt yet walks around free and – as far as we know – UNINVESTIGATED still!). That would make Ginny a CRIMINAL and CLARENCE a CO-CONSPIRATOR in Ginny’s crime.

Consider how many active Republican members of Congress took part in the planning and execution of the insurrection. And that is on top of the treason that started them all down this path.

There are lots more c-words! There’s also CONVOLUTED and CONSPIRING and CRASS and CULPABLE and CRINGE and CALLOUS.

There is one c-word Republicans and conservatives can’t get near however. It’s something they can never possess or ever call their own: CLASS.
